I feel like thats a design flaw for the Trombone.

We got to meet the performer who recorded the trombone part and he told a story of how they had 4-5 cameras on him so that the animators could make this as accurate as possible. Of course, the animators probably didn’t realize that note would be impossible for younger students, but I love the detail that went into animating this.

I remember my arms not being long enough back in middle school to fully extend the slide, so I’d flick it out from my fingertips to the top of my foot with my leg extended out in front of me, and then tap the end of the slide back up to catch it back with my fingers 😂 that’s what happens when you were 5’1”-5’2” back in middle school

Just to clarify b flat is first but she's playing a b not a b flat, and to play the b you have to reach to 7th position, which she can't reach.

In 1972 as I went off to college I bought a Conn 62H then 20 years later sold that and got a 112H that I still use today. This video confirmed some of what I already knew. I'm hoping I don't have nightmares about that four valve horn! (Bass trombone is my double - I play on a five valve CC Hirschbrunner)

I've always wondered why we don't dee thayer valves on other brass instruments. A euphonium with front facing thayer valves would sound awesome, in my imagination anyways

Trigger valves:

Played orchestrally for years, and I never found that the type of valve made any significant difference that practice and familiarity with a given system couldn't overcome, hence the proliferation and persistence of old and new valves. It just doesn't matter. However, physics dictates that 'where' the valve is placed, relative to the nodes and rarefactions of a given wave form (in this case relative to the fundamentals of F and Bb) should matter greatly. Failing that development, and all things 'else' being equal, if this option could be made to look less...unbalanced and offset, it might win some purchase with those who are looking for sponsorships.
